BMC to catch and rehabilitate stray dogs in phases from 457 institutions
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation is tackling stray dog issues at 457 problem spots, including stadiums and hospitals. Around 5,000 of the city's 48,000 stray dogs will be caught and rehabilitated in phases. Mass anti-rabies vaccination begins in March, alongside aggressive sterilization efforts. The civic body is also seeking land for permanent shelters to comply with Supreme Court directives.
