How Patriots’ Odds Stack Up To Win Next Year’s Super Bowl
Las Vegas isn’t treating the New England Patriots as a top-shelf contender to return to the Super Bowl next year.
New England’s epic run ended with a 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. After the game, oddsmakers wasted little time opening the betting market for Super Bowl LXI.
The Seahawks are favored to repeat at +750 on FanDuel Sportsbook, but the Patriots didn’t receive that same respect. New England has the 10th-shortest odds to win the Super Bowl at +1700.
Two teams the Patriots defeated during the 2025 season, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, lead the AFC charge at +1200 apiece. The Los Angeles Chargers remain ahead of New England (+1500) despite a lopsided first-round loss, and the Kansas City Chiefs are +1600 after missing the postseason.
The Patriots match the Chiefs at +750 to win the AFC behind the Bills, Ravens and Chargers.
Drake Maye will return to lead a squad that went 14-3 in Mike Vrabel’s first season as head coach. Skeptics may nevertheless wonder how the Patriots fare against a tougher 2026 schedule that includes games against the AFC West, NFC North and a Super Bowl rematch at Seattle.
Perhaps the Patriots can change the public’s perception with another successful offseason. K’Lavon Chaisson and Jaylinn Hawkins are among their 15 pending free agents, and they could pursue a high-end playmaker for Maye.
Las Vegas may not be sold on the Patriots as the AFC’s team to beat in 2026, but they were far bigger longshots (+8000) to win the Super Bowl last preseason.
