Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s chances of beating Newcastle despite injury crisis
Opta’s Supercomputer has revealed how likely Tottenham Hotspur are to beat Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Spurs suffered a bruising 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday, courtesy of Cristian Romero being sent off just before the 30-minute mark.
It was the first time that the Lilywhites had lost to Man United in four years, and it means that Thomas Frank’s men find themselves just five points clear of the relegation zone.
Many Tottenham supporters are now genuinely fearful of being dragged into a relegation battle as the North Londoners get set to host Newcastle.

Tottenham are deemed favourites to beat Newcastle
The Magpies themselves come into the game in poor form, having lost 3-2 at St James Park against Brentford over the weekend.
They find themselves just four points above the Lilywhites in the Premier League table, and Opta have deduced that Tottenham are favourites to beat Eddie Howe’s men at home.

The data analysis platform has given Spurs a 40.7 per cent chance of winning, and Newcastle a 32.6 per cent chance, while a draw is deemed the least likely result at 26.7 per cent.
Spurs are short of players heading into Tuesday’s clash
Romero is now suspended for four matches after receiving his second red card of the season, adding to Tottenham’s injury woes.
In fact, the Argentine could be one of 12 players Spurs will have to do without against Newcastle, giving Thomas Frank a massive headache.
With the North London derby now on the horizon, it is not the situation that the Lilywhites would have wanted to be in, particularly with relegation now looking like a realistic prospect.
