Kurt Warner Shares Surprising Super Bowl LX MVP Pick
Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner had a surprising MVP pick for Super Bowl LX.
The Seattle Seahawks are set to take on the New England Patriots on Sunday. Heading into the game, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is the favorite to win the award, as Seattle is favored to win the game.
Yet, Warner actually believes receiver Cooper Kupp could win his second Super Bowl MVP award on Sunday.
“How about unlikely being, someone who would win their second Super Bowl MVP and not be a quarterback,” Warner said on NFL Network on Sunday. “Something that has never ever happened in the history of the Super Bowl. How about Cooper Kupp going and being Super Bowl MVP? Everything has been about ‘JSN’ (Jaxon-Smith Njigba) and rightfully so, he’s been incredible this year.
“But, Cooper Kupp has stepped up big in the playoffs, made a bunch of big plays. Including a touchdown in the Championship Game. How about Cooper Kupp, coming back to the Super Bowl and winning it again?”
Kupp winning Super Bowl MVP would be a massive surprise, as he has the 10th-best odds of winning the award at +8000.
However, if the Patriots focus on shutting down Smth-Njigba, perhaps Kupp does become the focal point for Seattle’s offense.
In the playoffs, Kupp has recorded nine receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. He was named Super Bowl LVI MVP when he was with the Los Angeles Rams, as he had eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
Kick-off of Super Bowl LX is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
