Man, 35, fighting for life after being attacked by gang ‘armed with bats and sticks’
A man is suffering from life-threatening head injuries after being chased through the streets of a Yorkshire town.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was attacked in the early hours of Sunday in Keighley, near Bradford.
Police are appealing for information after the man was left in a critical condition after being assaulted by a group in Flasby Street at 3.15am.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains in a critical condition.
West Yorkshire Police detectives said the man had been chased and assaulted by a group, armed with weapons, like bats and sticks, in the vicinity of East Avenue.

Two other men, aged 21 and 24, were also assaulted during the attack but their injuries were declared not serious or life-threatening.
Bradford CID are urging witnesses to come forward.
Detective Superintendent Alan Weekes, Head of Crime and Safeguarding for Bradford District, said: ‘We are treating this incident very seriously and are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible.
‘Based on the information we have so far, we believe this has been a targeted attack on the victim, who remains in a critical condition in hospital with very serious injuries.
‘There is currently a large scene in place to undergo forensic examination and specialist searches. We appreciate the disruption this will be causing to local residents, and we are doing everything we can to minimise any inconvenience.’
He added: ‘We recognise that an incident of this nature will cause understandable concern in the community and we are liaising with officers on the local neighbourhood policing team to provide reassurance, and keeping local representatives updated as our enquiries progress.’
