Devon Witherspoon has had support from the sidelines for a very long time!

The 25-year-old cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks is playing for the NFL team against the New England Patriots at the 2026 Super Bowl on Sunday (February 8).

And leading up to the Big Game, he’s had a lot of love behind-the-scenes from someone special, who he’s been with since junior year of high school!

Devon Witherspoon is dating Nijeria McClain.

The two have been together since junior year of high school, meaning they’ve been together for 8 years already. She’s been with him every step of the way, including his draft pick for the Seahawks in 2023. (He was fifth overall.)

The two met in their home state of Florida.

“This year is different. I think it kind of started last year, where the girls were meeting each other and kind of hanging out. I think it’s the best year I’ve ever been here for sure,” she recently told People of adjusting to life in Seattle.

Nijeria has her associate’s degree and enrolled at Seattle University.

“Things just aligned so perfectly. It was just this fresh, new, fun chapter, so things just ended up working out so perfectly,” she said of moving with her boyfriend.

“When you’re around someone who is so high profile and so talented on a professional level, it can be kind of hard to separate yourself from their whole life. But I think that that is very important to do. I think you can become engulfed in everything that they have going on.”

“Sometimes you get bored. They’re working, they’re traveling. So to have those hobbies or even a job, it brings out a different side of you for sure,” she went on to say.

Nijeria added that the Seahawks do “a really good job of also including the women and the spouses. You do get your moments to shine. There’s a lot of events and activities that are put together for the women outside of football, but still in connection with the Seahawks. I really do love that.”
