Manchester United produced an impressive display to seal a superb 2-0 Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford yesterday.

Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes, one in each half, ensured the Red Devils claimed a vital three points in front of a jubilant home crowd.

While Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo rightly grabbed the headlines, it was Diogo Dalot who arguably delivered his standout performance of the 2025-26 campaign.

His defining moment arrived in the 81st minute, when he whipped in a sensational cross from the right flank.

He bent the ball perfectly into a dangerous area, inviting Fernandes to thunder it home.

The delivery was so exquisite that it left supporters wondering where that level of quality had been hiding.

The Portuguese international has endured a mixed season up to this point.

He began the campaign unconvincingly before enjoying something of a revival at left wing-back.

Caretaker head coach Michael Carrick has restored him to his favoured right-back role, and Dalot looked right at home.

Dalot was outstanding in possession, completing an impressive 59 of his 61 passes with precision and confidence.

He also completed 100% of his dribbles and crosses, while making four important tackles.

He could have added an early assist after driving the ball from United’s half into the final third and sliding a clever pass into Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian came close, unleashing a long-range effort that narrowly missed the top right corner.

Dalot was also a threat from set-pieces, finding space when the ball dropped to him from a corner.

He unleashed a powerful strike, only for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to produce a superb diving save to his left.

Carrick has shown faith in Dalot, just like many previous United managers.

There were calls for Noussair Mazraoui to replace the Portuguese international, but Dalot could now retain his spot for the upcoming clash with West Ham United.
