EXCLUSIVE: Spain Teetering on the Brink of Civil War? Sánchez’s Radical Left Regime Drowns in Corruption Scandals While Mass-Migrating the Nation – Echoes of 1936 Grow Louder
As of February 2026, Spain is staring into the abyss. Nearly a century after the brutal 1936-1939 Civil War – where half a million died amid priest tortures, church burnings, rapes, and mass executions on both sides – the country is fracturing again.
The socialist Pedro Sánchez and his far-left PSOE-Sumar coalition are pushing the nation toward chaos with unchecked corruption, radical ideology. And a reckless mass regularization of up to 500,000+ undocumented migrants.
The Spanish left never got over losing to Franco. That defeat festers like an open wound – a “betrayed revolution” myth passed down generations. Now, every judicial probe into their scandals is screamed as “lawfare” by the right-wing fascists, straight out of the pre-1936 playbook.
Sánchez’s crew even exhumed Franco’s remains in a symbolic grave-robbing flex. Mirroring the left’s historical corpse-desecration tactics.
Ideologically bankrupt since the USSR’s collapse, the Spanish left ditched Marxism for a toxic mash-up. Extreme environmentalism, cozying up to political Islam, open borders, blind backing for Palestine (with Second Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Díaz’s face-twisting anti-Israel rants veering into outright antisemitism). It’s radicalism for radicalism’s sake – a desperate bid to stay relevant and in power.
A feast of corruption
And power? It’s rotting from the inside. The Koldo/Ábalos mega-scandal is exploding: rigged COVID mask contracts, kickbacks worth hundreds of millions. Ex-Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos (Sánchez’s former No. 3) and aide Koldo García are in pre-trial detention for criminal organization, bribery, influence peddling.
Santos Cerdán (ex-PSOE organizational secretary) is indicted too. Supreme Court preliminary hearing set for February 12, 2026 – they must show up in person. Witness Víctor de Aldama spilled on payoffs: €400k to Ábalos, €200k to Koldo, more to others.
It gets personal: Sánchez’s wife Begoña Gómez faces charges of influence peddling, corruption, and misuse of funds (probe extended to April 2026, possible jury trial). His brother David is hit with similar influence and malfeasance accusations. Multiple overlapping cases paint the Sánchez regime as Europe’s most corrupt.
To cling to power amid judicial heat and a shaky parliament, Sánchez consequently dropped a bombshell decree in January 2026: regularizing 500,000+ undocumented migrants (possibly more) who were in Spain before Dec. 31, 2025 – minimal residency proof, work permits from April onward.
Sold as “humanitarian” and economic boost for an aging population, critics (especially Vox) call it a massive pull factor that will overload services, strain budgets, and create de facto Islamic cultural zones. Spaniards are furious – feeling erased on their own soil.
Polarization is off the charts: verbal violence normalized, middle classes alienated, majority sensing decline and betrayal (echoing analyses like Military Strategy Magazine on civil war triggers). Vox surges as the anti-immigration, nationalist bulwark.
The ghosts of 1936 are stirring. A traumatized, idea-starved left radicalizes to survive – corruption, mass migration, historical revisionism. Spain shows every warning sign of crossing the point of no return.
Patriots, wake up. History doesn’t repeat exactly – but nightmares do. The West watches as another European nation slides toward the flames.
Drieu Godefridi – reporting from Europe the truth the mainstream won’t touch. Stay alert.
