To the editor: Tale of 2 spiritual gatherings

On a recent Thursday night, I had the opportunity to attend a community gathering hosted by a local church. At the same time, another event was taking place elsewhere in the city, which while not hosted by a religious organization had religious overtones. While both meetings had faith connections, their purposes could not have been more different.
