Razorbacks host return of Wooo Pig Classic on Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE – No. 11 Arkansas continues its run of home meets with the Wooo Pig Classic on Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center. This meet is being held for the first time since its debut in 2021.

Teams competing in the meet include Central Arkansas, Coffeyville (Ks) CC, Grambling State, Harding, Houston Christian, Little Rock, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, Notre Dame, Northwestern State, and Pittsburg State.

The Wooo Pig Classic will stream on SEC Network + starting at noon (CT) via this link. Live results are available through Flash Results at this link.

“First of all we want to get rid of the flu bug, that destroyed us last weekend,” noted Arkansas men’s head coach Doug Case. “I think there were over 10 guys who all of sudden came down with the flu. It all hit last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It was interesting how it got us.

“This meet is going to be very low key for us kind of for that reason. There are some things we want to do. We want to run Jerome Campbell, one of our good hurdlers, in the 60m. He’s a pretty good sprinter, so we want to see where is he in that event.”

Campbell put together a stellar set of times – 7.57, 7.62, and 7.65 – over three rounds of the 60m hurdles last weekend. His season best of 7.57 ranks No. 4 on the UA all-time list. Campbell, who has a career best of 7.49 in the hurdles as runner-up in the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, has a best of 6.66 in the 60m from 2023.

Joining Campbell in the 60m are teammates Kevin Bello, Juriad Hughes, Jr., and Tevijon Williams. Bello will also race in the 200m along with Jelani Watkins.

In his debut race as a Razorback last weekend Watkins ran 20.88 in the 200m, just off his 20.78 PR, and added a career best of 6.60 in the 60m. Now at Arkansas he has the opportunity to train on a banked track for future 200m races.

“He’s going to get used to that more, going up and down the curves, just with practice,” stated Case. “We work on that stuff a couple of times a week, just learning how to run our turns and everything. I think when he really figures it out he could be a threat in the 200m indoors this year.”

Contesting the 60m hurdles are Abdoul Sy-Savane and Karamoko Sacko along with combined event athletes Jaxon Bair and Cooper Williams. Hughes in also entered in the long jump while Lind Lindsey is scheduled to compete in the long and triple jump.

In middle distance events the mile will include Eli Seavey, Dawson Welch and Jack Williams while Owan Logorodi is racing in the 800m. Seavey is also entered in the 3,000m along with Trey Caldwell.

“We’ll run a 4 x 400m relay since we didn’t get to run one at the Razorback Invitational,” said Case. “Again, I don’t think I can load it up because I don’t think I have guys ready to do it yet with the flu situation.

“It’s going to be limited with us in what we try to do this weekend. It’s kind of a heal up week for us as we get ready for the Tyson Invitational next weekend.”
