Four star Kretkowski hearing from array of potential suitors

Having recently attained a personal milestone by reaching the 1,000th career point benchmark, Class of 2027 St. Joseph’s Metuchen (NJ) wing forward Andrew Kretkowski has garnered national visibility this season.
The 6-foot-8, hard attacking and vertically explosive Kretkowski is averaging 17 PPG.
Kretkowski has made his focus on becoming a more versatile all around threat a livelihood, as he’s invested in a workload emphasizing long range shooting and ball handling.
Having recently visited Rutgers and heard from Notre Dame on a consistent basis, the emerging stock riser is hearing from a vast array of programs.
“I’ve been hearing from a consistent list of Rutgers, VCU, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Notre Dame, and Stanford,” said Kretkowski.
While he also has an offer from Florida State, Kretkowski visited VCU over the summer. The coaching staff under Phil Martelli Jr. has been in multiple times to see the four star recruit this year.
Steadily adapting to the role of a three level scorer who has diversified his offensive repertoire to where he is routinely shooting it from 24 feet out, Kretkowski envisions himself playing in a souped up attack at the next level.
“I definitely see myself in a fast paced system with a lot of quick hitters,” Kretkowski explained.
“I believe my athleticism and shooting ability would benefit in a modern high scoring system. Also a system with schemes to attack mismatches and see different looks from all over the court with my versatility.”
