Austin Butler to Play Lance Armstrong in New Movie
A new movie based on the life and career of Lance Armstrong is in the works, and Austin Butler is attached to star in it.
On Friday (February 6), it was announced that the 34-year-old Oscar-nominated actor has signed on to play the 54-year-old former cyclist in a new movie directed by Conclave filmmaker Edward Berger.

According to Deadline, “the package has already caused a frenzied bidding war with several offers in from major studios.” The movie will cover Armstrong’s life and career, from his cycling triumphs to his downfall.
Scott, who has already secured the rights to Armstrong’s life, had been developing the movie before relaunching United Artists and partnering with Amazon in 2024.
The upcoming project will mark the second Armstrong biopic, following 2015′s The Program, which starred Ben Foster.
