Timothy Busfield Indicted on 4 Counts of Child Sex Abuse by Grand Jury
Timothy Busfield has been indicted on child sex abuse charges.
On Friday (February 6), the 68-year-old actor and director was indicted on four counts of criminal sexual contact of a child by a grand jury in New Mexico, Variety reports.
“As with all criminal proceedings, Mr. Busfield is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law,” Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman said in a statement via Facebook. “This case will proceed through the judicial process and is expected to move forward to trial.”
Keep reading to find out more…Busfield has been accused of sexually abusing two boys, who were allegedly 7 and 8 at the time, on the set of The Cleaning Lady when he was directing an episode in 2022. He turned himself in to law enforcement in New Mexico days after his arrest warrant was issued. He was later released from custody pending trial.
The West Wing actor has previously denied any wrongdoings and said that he will “confront these lies” brought against him.
