Bay Area bank employee and two others accused of robbery scheme
Investigators arrested three suspects Thursday on allegations they conspired to rob Novato bank customers.
The robberies happened on Sept. 1, Nov. 29 and Jan. 14, said Lt. Brennan Collins of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. The victims were customers of the same bank, and all were robbed after withdrawing money, Collins said.
Two victims were robbed at their homes, and one was robbed after exiting a vehicle at a business in San Rafael. Collins said a gun was used in each case.
Investigators used bank surveillance footage to identify a related vehicle, determine its owner and establish “known associates,” Collins said. He said one of the suspects worked for the bank branch, which he did not name.
Sheriff’s detectives and officers from the Novato and San Rafael police departments arrested the suspects after executing warrants in San Pablo and Vallejo.
Alexander Cunningham, 30, of San Pablo was arrested on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and drug offenses. Danielle Torres, 29, of Vallejo was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy. Alexis Flores, 25, the bank employee, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, drug and weapons offenses.
The evidence in the case includes $160,000 in cash seized at Cunningham’s residence.
