Skiing events will take place every day of the Olympics through February 22, 2026.

After a healthy dusting of snow earlier in the week, skiing at the Winter Olympics is in full swing. We've put together everything you need to know about how to watch Olympic skiing, including free streaming options around the world.

Skiing takes many forms at the Winter Olympics, including cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Alpine downhill skiing, freestyle skiing, and ski mountaineering. The latter is the newest addition to the pack, and Milano Cortina marks the first Olympic Games where "skimo" is an official sport.

The skiing headline at this year's Winter Olympics, at least so far, is Lindsey Vonn. The American Alpine skier and Olympic gold medalist came out of retirement prepared for one more Olympic run, but a crash last week left her with a torn ACL. However, Vonn has announced her plans to still attempt to compete, and all eyes are on the downhill training events before the Sunday women's downhill final.

Whether you're looking to see Vonn hit the slopes or you're curious about checking out ski mountaineering, we've got you covered. Keep reading to learn how to stream the Winter Olympics around the world.

*Local channels, like NBC, are only available in select regions on Sling.

How to watch Olympic skiing in the US

Olympic skiing will be available through NBCUniversal channels in the US. The best way to ensure that you can catch absolutely every moment is through Peacock, the US live streaming home of the Winter Olympics. The streaming service, which starts at $11 a month, covers every event. You can live stream sports or catch up on demand if you're unable to tune in as they're airing.

You can also catch NBC and USA's coverage, which will be a little less comprehensive than Peacock, through a live TV streaming service. DirecTV and Sling TV are two of the best options we've tested. NBC and USA are available in all of DirecTV's Signature plans, but they're also carried in the cheaper MySports genre pack. DirecTV MySports costs $70 a month and unlocks around 20 popular sports channels. New users can get $10 off their first two months of service after a five-day free trial.

Sling also carries NBC and USA. You can find the networks in the Sling Blue plan, along with 40+ other channels. It's important to note that local channel coverage (like NBC) varies by region, so you should check what's available in your area before signing up. Sling Blue plans with access to local channels cost $50 a month.

How to watch Olympic skiing in Canada

Olympic skiing coverage will be available through CBC in Canada. This means viewers can stream coverage live for free on CBC Gem. Users just need to create an account, and then they're all set to start watching.

How to watch Olympic skiing in the UK

In the UK, select Winter Olympics coverage will be available through the BBC. This means that British viewers with a valid TV license can live stream coverage by creating a BBC iPlayer account. BBC's coverage will be select, and the best way to keep up with all the action will be through a paid Discovery Plus subscription.

How to watch Olympic skiing in Australia

Winter Olympics coverage, like skiing, will be available through Nine in Australia. That means viewers will be able to live stream the action for free on 9Now, which only requires account creation to use. For total Australian Olympics coverage across every slope and event, viewers will need to sign up for Stan Sport. Stan Sport costs $32 a month.

How to watch Olympic skiing from anywhere

If you'll be away from the location where your streaming service works during a can't-miss event, you can still access it with the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs enable people to change their electronic devices' virtual locations. This way, their go-to websites and apps work from anywhere in the world. They're also instant ways to boost online privacy and security. NordVPN is one of the best options on the market, thanks to its fast speeds, cybersecurity perks, and 30-day money-back guarantee. You can explore more in our NordVPN review.

Note: The use of VPNs is illegal in certain countries, and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content might constitute a breach of the terms of use for certain services. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
