Camron Guthrie, Savannah's Brother, Is a Retired Vermont National Guard Pilot
Charles "Camron" Guthrie is the only son of missing Arizona grandmother Nancy Guthrie, who had three kids with her late husband Charles. Among them is Savannah Guthrie, the Today Show host.
Camron Guthrie has twice released statements speaking directly to his 84-year-old mom's kidnapper or kidnappers. First, he spoke briefly in a joint video with his siblings, pleading with the abductors to provide "proof of life" and make contact with the Guthrie family. Then, he recorded a separate video by himself, addressing the abductors. It was posted to Savannah Guthrie's Instagram page.
Nancy Guthrie disappeared on January 31. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a February 5, 2026, news conference that no suspects have been identified in the case. The motive is also not clear. Three ransom notes demanding Bitcoin were sent to media outlets and are being taken seriously, authorities said. The FBI is involved in the case. The decision on whether to pay ransom or make video statements is ultimately up to the Guthrie family, authorities said. Nanos also confirmed that a door camera was disconnected, and Nancy Guthrie's blood was found on the front stoop of her home.
Who Is Camron Guthrie?
Camron Guthrie is a retired F-16 pilot, according to a 2018 post that Savannah made on her Instagram page. She shared a video of a plane and wrote, “Col. Charles Camron ‘ARLO’ Guthrie on his final flight as an F-16 pilot. He retired from military flying this weekend, and we were so honored to see his last flight."
Added Savannah: "I have never been more proud of my big brother. He has flown for our country for 26 years, and continues to serve proudly in the ‘Green Mountain Boys’ – the Vermont Air National Guard. He is the pride of our family and one of this country’s finest. #applause.”

The Guthrie siblings and their mom weathered another tragedy together: The death of patriarch Charles Guthrie, who died of a heart attack when Savannah was in her teens.
“When my dad died, our whole family just hung on to each other for dear life, because it was such a shock. We were just figuring out how to become a family of four when we had always been a family of five," Savannah said in 2017, according to 12 News.

"We haven't heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first, we have to know you have our mom. We want to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact."
