Crazy! This Acer 2-in-1 laptop with 32GB RAM is now under $500
RAM prices are insane right now. I can’t find 32 GB of DDR5 laptop RAM for under $300 on Amazon. But if you head over to eBay, you can find a refurbished Acer laptop with a touchscreen and a 180-degree hinge for just $492.89. Not only is that a huge discount on the original $880 retail price, it’s barely any more than you’d spend for the memory alone! I’m not crying, you’re crying!
The Acer Aspire Spin 14 is a solid Raptor Lake laptop with a 10-core processor and, yes, 32GB of RAM, plus a 1TB SSD. Both of those are approximately double what you’d find on a regular laptop in this price range. And this one also includes a 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen, a built-in stylus, and a decent 53-watt-hour battery—I’d guess somewhere between 8 and 12 hours, depending on exactly what you do with it. The integrated graphics aren’t going to blow anyone away, but should be able to handle a little Minecraft (if you take it easy on the mods).
At 3.3 pounds, it’s actually not too heavy for a 14-inch 2-in-1, though the Aspire Spin 14’s ports aren’t great. You get just one USB-C port, two USB-A ports, and full-sized HDMI, and… that’s it. It also doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, nor can I find anything on Windows Hello facial recognition in the webcam. That said, I still wouldn’t balk at this price.
Especially since it’s coming via Acer’s official eBay store, complete with a one-year warranty (though it is via Allstate). That’s often the compromise on refurbished laptops. But at this price, I’d take it. If you’d rather go new, I’d suggest this Asus 15-inch laptop, which has less RAM but also a lower price.
