Former Super Bowl MVP Gets Patriots Fans Fired Up With New Hype Video
The last time the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl seven years ago, Julian Edelman was Super Bowl MVP.
Edelman’s retired now, but unlike former teammate Tom Brady, he still roots for and cares about the Patriots.
The 39-year-old former star receiver has made that abundantly clear throughout the week, especially on Wednesday when he arrived at the home of Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California.
Edelman filmed a short selfie video on the field at Levi’s Stadium that’s sure to get New England fans fired up.
“Here in Palo Alto, California, at the Stanford Cardinal’s home field, watching these damn Patriots go,” said the three-time Super Bowl champ, who was wearing black sunglasses, a black shirt and a black “Boston Patriots” hat.
“We all we got. We all we need. Everyone betting against us. Bet against us. It’s gonna be a hell of a frickin’ story. Let’s go!” Edelman yelled, his voice rising throughout the video.
The Patriots are underdogs against the Seattle Seahawks this week, but that hasn’t stopped them before. They won their first title as massive underdogs 24 years ago, shocking the St. Louis Rams in Brady’s Super Bowl debut.
New England also beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl 11 years ago, largely due to Edelman. Edelman led the Patriots with 109 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine catches against Seattle’s vaunted “Legion of Boom” defense.
This year is a similar story with the Patriots going up against an elite Seahawks defense. Time will tell if they prevail again.
