Popular Taco Restaurant Partners With Matthew McConaughey's Tequila
Away from the big screen, actor Matthew McConaughey is well-known in the food and liquor space. Perhaps you've seen his viral tuna salad recipe or tried his organic tequila, Pantalones, released in 2023.
Pantalones Organic Tequila, which McConaughey launched with his wife Camila Alves, has partnered with Fuzzy's Taco Shop, the Texas-born taco chain which currently operates in 14 different states, on two new margaritas for the franchise's "pants optional" Wild West-inspired menu.
Pantalones, Fuzzy's link up for new refreshments
Fuzzy's announced its latest menu additions, including the collaboration with McConaughey and Pantalones, on Thursday.
The pair of mixed concoctions are described as "dangerously easy to love and built to set pants (or chaps) on fire," per a press release shared with Men's Journal.
- Party Pants Margarita ($14.50): A two-flavor flight of mango, strawberry, or lime margaritas made with Pantalones Organic Silver Tequila. These are served side-by-side in Fuzzy's signature pants cup. Customers are invited to make it spicy "if you’re feelin’ bold."
- Pants on Fire Margarita ($13): A combination described as "sweet strawberry meets jalapeño heat shaken for a smooth sip and a fiery finish that sticks around long after the glass is empty."
Unrelated to this Pantalones Organic Tequila partnership, Fuzzy's is also offering $4 House Margaritas and $4 Sangria ’Rita Swirlsfor National Margarita Day on Sunday, February 22.
The restaurant will also serve $4 Coors Light drafts for those who want to drink beer.
Fresh taco and nacho items now available
In addition to the new drinks, Fuzzy's also announced three food items joining menus nationwide.
Fuzzy's will now serve the following offerings: Texas brisket taco, Sonora Relleno taco and Head Honcho nachos.
The Texas brisket taco ($4.59, though exact price may vary by restaurant) features slow-cooked brisket on top of a beer-battered poblano in a flour tortilla. It's topped with melted cheese, cilantro-lime crema, chipotle aioli, pickled red onion, and cilantro.
The Sonora Relleno taco ($3.99) also incorporates beer-battered poblanos in a flour tortilla along with melted cheese, cilantro-lime crema, chipotle aioli, house-made guacamole, pickled red onion, and cilantro.
Finally, Head Honcho nachos ($11) will consist of tortilla chips smothered in seasoned ground beef, refried beans, Queso Dorado, shredded cheese, pickled jalapeños, and pico de gallo, topped off with cilantro-lime crema, and house-made guacamole.
