Man Utd plot ambitious move for €100m winger with explosive pace next summer
Manchester United have already begun laying the groundwork for a busy and ambitious summer transfer window.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are interested in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande as they eye bolstering their ranks with a winger.
Diomande has been nothing short of electric, taking the Bundesliga by storm in his breakthrough campaign.
The teenager has scored seven goals and provided four assists in just 19 league appearances, playing a key role in pushing RB Leipzig into fifth place.
The 19-year-old is a fantastic talent and these impressive numbers only highlight that he could develop into a superstar.
All of his contributions have come when starting as a right-winger.
With a contract running until 2030, Leipzig hold a powerful negotiating position and are reportedly valuing him at a massive €100 million.
His blistering pace, explosive acceleration and fearless dribbling have clearly caught the attention of United’s scouting department.
The Red Devils are actively searching for a natural right-footed winger to rebalance their attacking options.
They offloaded Alejandro Garnacho last summer and Marcus Rashford could also leave permanently in the coming months.
Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are both left-footed wingers.
Matheus Cunha is currently the only right-footed alternative, but his best performances have come in more central attacking roles.
Chasing Diomande under former manager Ruben Amorim would not have made sense as his system relied more on wing-backs.
However, he could be a good signing if United are ready to play with back four system in the future.
INEOS are expected to prioritise a full midfield revamp, with at least two elite signings seen as essential.
Adding a marquee winger alongside those midfield reinforcements would make for an ideal and statement-making summer window.
