Super LX will bring together the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium.

Super Bowl LX is almost here, and if you're hoping to watch every touchdown in crystal clear quality, you're in luck. Below, we've gathered everything you need to know about how to watch the Super Bowl in 4K, whether you have cable or you're seeking a live streaming alternative.

Super Bowl LX will see the New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game, a highly anticipated rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl, offers an equally enticing halftime show from Bad Bunny, who just won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Green Day, Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile, and Coco Jones are among the other artists scheduled to perform before the game kicks off.

Keep scrolling to learn about tuning into the 2026 Super Bowl in 4K. We'll also break down what you need to know about 4K compatible televisions. If you don't want to read any further, Peacock Premium is the cheapest way to live stream the coverage in 4K.

*Local channel coverage, like NBC, varies from region to region on Sling.

How to watch the Super Bowl in 4K in the US

The Super Bowl will air on NBC in the US, and the broadcast will be available in 4K HDR. Cord-cutters don't need to worry about missing out on the high-def viewing either. NBCUniversal announced that Peacock, NBC's streaming counterpart, will also carry the 4K Super Bowl coverage.

Super Bowl-friendly Peacock plans start at $11 a month for Peacock Premium, which offers ad-supported on-demand streaming. If you prefer ad-free on-demand content or want to unlock 24/7 NBC live streaming, it might be worth trying Peacock Premium Plus for $17 a month. We dubbed Peacock the must-have streaming service for February, in no small part because of the app's extensive Winter Olympics coverage. In fact, NBC and Peacock are running a special "4K All Day" feature on February 8, so both the Super Bowl and all Sunday Olympics coverage broadcast on NBC will be available in 4K.

If you'd prefer a streaming service that carries channels beyond just NBC, then one of the best live TV streaming services will do the trick. Two of the top NBC-friendly month-to-month live TV services we've tested are DirecTV and Sling TV, both of which have confirmed that NBC's 4K broadcast will be available on TVs with 4K capabilities.

DirecTV is our top recommendation since the service's NBC coverage is more widespread. You can find NBC in all Signature plans (which start at $90 a month for the Entertainment tier). If you'd prefer something more budget-friendly, you can try one of DirecTV's genre packs. DirecTV MyNews costs $40 a month and carries 10+ channels. New users can get their first two months for $35 a month. DirecTV's MySports plan costs $70 a month and carries around 20 popular channels (plus access to ESPN Unlimited). All DirecTV plans come with a five-day free trial for first-time customers.

As we mentioned, Sling is also 4K compatible for the Super Bowl on select devices. However, Sling's local channel coverage (like NBC) is only available in select regions, so check whether you can get it in your ZIP code before signing up. Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. are among the markets where NBC is available on Sling. Sling TV subscription prices vary by tier, but the cheapest NBC-friendly option is Sling Select, which offers around 10 networks and costs $25 a month with regional channels. Sling's more expensive Blue plan offers over 40 channels and costs about $50 a month when local channels like NBC are available.

How to watch the Super Bowl in 4K from anywhere

Fans traveling away from home can still access their usual streaming options with the aid of a VPN, or virtual private network. VPNs are cybersecurity apps that let people alter their device's virtual location. In addition to boosting security and privacy, this can help people access their usual websites and apps from anywhere in the same way they would back home. The services we've highlighted today require US methods of payment, so this option will work best for Americans who are simply traveling abroad at the moment.

If you're not sure where to start with VPNs, NordVPN is the best of the best right now. It's a fantastic option with a massive selection of servers, discounts with long-term plans, and a 30-day money-back guarantee if you find that it's not what you're looking for. You can learn more about the app in our NordVPN review.

What devices are 4K compatible?

You can be subscribed to all the streaming services in the world and still not be able to watch in 4K if you don't have the right equipment. Only some devices are 4K compatible. Some older phones, for example, won't be able to live stream in 4K. Most newer smart TVs and operating systems (Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, etc.) are 4K compatible. For more info, you can check out our heavily tested guide to the best 4K TVs. Our home theater expert has also rounded up some of the best upgrades to make ahead of the Super Bowl, including soundbars, wall mounts, and 4K streaming players.

Note: The use of VPNs is illegal in certain countries and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content might constitute a breach of the terms of use for certain services. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
