University of Porto’s LABIOMEP set to join EA list of accredited high performance centres
The European Aquatics list of accredited sport science and high performance centres is set to be augmented by the University of Porto’s LABIOMEP, which has been recommended for accreditation until January 31, 2028.
Laboratories at the University of Granada and the Gloria Sports Arena in Antalya are already accredited until November 30 this year.
LABIOMEP will thus join the network of facilities providing information to athletes about how best to optimise their performance.
Athletes are able to visit the laboratories for evaluation and screening. They then receive reports advising what are their strongest points and how they can best improve.
Typical questions that will addressed include:
What are the points I can improve in my technique?
What are the race segments that I can tweak to improve my race time?
Should I improve my muscle strength?
What is the best Strength and Conditioning programme for me?
Athletes, clubs and national federations can contact the accredited laboratories via email.
