Tottenham fans rate January transfer window out of 10 as Spurs owners labelled ‘a disgrace’
Tottenham supporters have now delivered an early verdict on the club’s first winter transfer window since the departure of Daniel Levy.
The January transfer window is officially closed after slamming shut at 7 pm on 2 February 2026.
Tottenham Hotspur were somewhat busy as they managed to secure the addition of Conor Gallagher, signed from Atletico Madrid for £35 million.
Full-back Souza also joined from Santos for £15 million, while the club also managed to beat Arsenal to the signature of James Wilson, with a loan and an option to buy the forward agreed with Hearts.
Spurs’ dealings saw them spend a total of £50 million; they managed a net spend of £15 million, given that they sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace for £35 million during the winter window.

There was indeed plenty of promise from the higher-ups, especially after a reported £100 million injection which also saw several board-level changes, including the departure of former chairman Daniel Levy.
This winter marked the first transfer window without Levy in charge in the last 24 years, and Tottenham fans have now sent in their ratings.
When asked how they would rate Spurs’ business, one fan said: “0. Left winger was our priority in the summer. We needed one very badly after Son left. Didn’t get one but we were briefed it would be the absolute priority in January. Still no winger. Not to mention we also sold Brennan Johnson & lost Kudus due to a long-term injury aswell.”
Another Tottenham supporter added: “Genuine 0 or even negative” The low ratings continued to pour in, with one supporter saying: “0.1-10 the owners are a disgrace”
Another fan commented: “2/10 a very poor window. We were always going to struggle to attract players with the instability and league position, but I cannot understand letting Johnson go without a replacement.”
One more supporter wrote: “0 out of 10. We should have signed a left-winger in the summer. We need cover in the left back position so Porro is not worn out at RB.”
Another Tottenham fan simply stated: “-10” A final contribution read: “0/10 Gallagher replaced an injury. No ambition to improve the squad and Souza will be another kid that doesn’t play. None of our long term injuries addressed even though we injected 100m and have earned 70-80m in the Champions League.”
Spurs winter window leaves familiar questions
Spurs were linked with several top targets throughout the winter window, but ultimately could not secure further additions.
Thomas Frank even opened up on how Tottenham were in the race for Antoine Semenyo, but again they were pipped by Manchester City, who paid his £65 million release clause.
There was a clear need for reinforcement given the injury crisis and poor league form that has Tottenham down in 14th place, and with no further additions in key areas where they are stretched, it does feel like a recipe for failure.
Club captain Cristian Romero has since called out the Tottenham board, labelling the lack of ambition as disgraceful.
Spurs will now turn their attention back to the pitch for the remainder of the season in the Champions League and the league.
