Keith Hernandez Staying at SNY
Keith Hernandez will continue to provide color commentary for Mets games aside Gary Cohen and Ron Darling. The best booth in baseball stays together per Anthony Rieber of Newsday Sports. At the time of writing it is unknown how many years Keith has signed on for or how many games he will work per season. In 2025 Keith called approximately 110 games.
Keith Hernandez spent seven seasons with the Mets slashing .297/.387/.429/.816 with 80 HRs and 468 RBIs and was instrumental in the Mets 1986 World Series season. Following that season Keith was named the first Team Captain in team history, an honor he would share with Gary Carter a year later.
After a brief acting career which included Seinfeld and Law & Order, Keith got his start in broadcasting with MSG Networks in 1999 and then joined the Mets broadcast booth at SNY in 2006. Gary, Keith and Ron continue as the longest running booth in Mets history and will be in Florida to call Spring Training games later this month.
No one describes what Keith brings to the booth better than Ron Darling did on The Score Chicago when he said, “Keith lightens it up, surely. No one entertains better than Keith Hernandez.”
