Ted Danson's Netflix Comedy Renewed For Season 3 - Here's When You Can Watch It
Netflix has confirmed that Ted Danson's popular comedy series A Man on the Inside will be returning for a third season.
The show follows retired professor Charles Nieuwendyk, played by Danson, as he's hired by a private investigator to go undercover in a retirement home. The show was created by Mike Schur, who previously collaborated with Danson on The Good Place.
'A Man on the Inside' Will Return With A Brand-New Adventure
Despite the show's modest viewership, Netflix is betting on its growing critical acclaim to make a third season profitable for the streamer. Season 1 of A Man on the Inside landed a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, while season 2 was close behind with 92%.
The most recent episodes didn't even crack Netflix's Top 10 English series when they were released last December, but the show was admittedly competing with the streaming goliath, Stranger Things. It had a viewership drop of over 55% between seasons, but the show has been picking up momentum as new fans discovered it in recent weeks.
"We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Netflix on another season of A Man on the Inside,” said Michael Schur. "It’s a true joy to work with this entire team, most especially the handsome, erudite, and monstrously talented Ted Danson, a true American treasure whose contract stipulates exactly what adjectives I am allowed to use while describing him in press releases.”
When Will Season 3 of 'A Man on the Inside' Be On Streaming?
Netflix has not given an official release date for A Man on the Inside's new season yet, but it's safe to assume that it will arrive some time in 2027. The renewal was a fairly quick one, and Netflix will clearly want to capitalize on the show's recent momentum.
The show's second season arrived almost exactly a year after its first, but it's worth noting that season 3's renewal took a little longer to secure. This means it's unlikely we'll see Nieuwendyk again this year, but all previous episodes are currently streaming on Netflix globally for audiences to catch up with.
