DEFENCE MINISTER PAYS MAIDEN VISIT TO MDF HEADQUARTERS IN LILONGWE

The newly appointed Minister of Defence, Honourable Feston Kaupa Mp, made his maiden visit to the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Joint Force Headquarters in Lilongwe, marking a significant step in strengthening defence cooperation.
Upon arrival at Kamuzu Barracks, Minister Kaupa was accorded a General Salute and inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by the Second Battalion of the Malawi Army.
The Minister then held talks with Chief of Defence Force, General George Alexander Jaffu Jnr, discussing key issues.
The meeting was followed by a joint session with chiefs of Directorates at Kamuzu Barracks Officers’ Mess, aimed at boosting coordination and reviewing ongoing defence initiatives.
This visit underscores the commitment to enhance Malawi’s defence capabilities, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Malawi Defence Force.
The visit was a key milestone in fostering a stronger partnership between the ministry and the defence force.
