Jack Antonoff Goes Viral for Puzzling 'ICE Out' Pin Answer at Grammys 2026
Jack Antonoff is speaking out about his “ICE Out” pin at the 2026 Grammys which he and many other celebrities wore on Sunday night (February 1) in Los Angeles.
If you didn’t know, many people are protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in their communities, boycotting companies for supporting ICE and calling for defunding of the program amid the ICE-related deaths of at least eight people in 2026 alone.
“Can you talk to me a little bit about the pin that you’re wearing tonight?” a Variety reporter asked Jack on the red carpet at the event.

“I mean…” he said, trailing off.
“It’s, it’s terrible, you know. I mean, it’s time to… It’s just… for every reason you could imagine, I would think. But, um, yeah,” he continued.
“Bit speechless trying to even talk about it.”

“We can do both and find a way to… Uh… I don’t know, it’s just a really good time for, uh, people to come together and figure out how to move through this. Because it’s only gonna be small communities that can really help,” he went on to say.
Jack faced a ton of backlash on social media, accusing him of being performative and uninformed about why he was even wearing the “ICE OUT” slogan.

It’s giving I’m wearing it to not come off wrong but I don’t support this I don’t know or care about this issue

If you are supporting a cause you need to be able to explicitly talk about it and explain your support, how will people come together and move through something that is not being named? You are not raising awareness by just wearing a pin if you can't say what is going on.
