Tottenham not giving up hope of late transfer drama, but three deals are ruled out
As we enter the final hours of the transfer window, two reliable journalists have revealed what their sources are saying about Tottenham potentially bringing one more player through the door.
The big question on deadline day was whether Tottenham could bolster their attack, with the Lilywhites ailing with a bloated injury list at the moment.
Thomas Frank has refused to rule out a late addition to the Spurs squad, but the North Londoners are now running out of time to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Spurs fans’ hopes of a late surprise are dwindling by the minute, and the latest updates regarding the club’s pursuits are not too promising.
Alasdair Gold rules out three late Tottenham transfers
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now said that Spurs have not completely given up hope of pulling something out of the bag in dramatic style before the window slams shut.
He suggests that Tottenham may be looking at potential late loan deals to boost Frank’s options upfront amidst the club’s injury crisis.
However, Gold confirms what we have heard from other sources by stating that Monaco do not expect Maghnes Akliouche to be joining the Lilywhites over the next few hours.
The journalist also adds that sources within Spurs have dismissed the possibility of landing Jhon Duran or Moussa Diaby.
Matt Law says Spurs are ‘unlikely’ to sign any more players
The Telegraph’s Matt Law also has some bad news for Tottenham fans who are continuing to hope for a late deal before the 7 pm deadline.
While the journalist admits that you can ‘never say never’, he states that the chances of another player arriving through the door at Hotspur Way are ‘unlikely’.
He concurs with Gold that neither Duran nor Diaby are seen as a target for Tottenham, and adds that both Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani will stay put in N17.
