Club Statement: Dean Mckenzie
Raith Rovers can confirm that Dean Mckenzie has stepped down from his position on the Board and as General Manager with immediate effect.
Dean commented, “After a great deal of thought over the past few weeks, I’ve made the difficult decision to step down from my role as a Board member and volunteer at Raith Rovers Football Club due to increasing business commitments, family priorities, and the need for a break after 14 years at the football coalface.
We came into the Club as a group to help build and improve in all areas, while progress has been made, I hope a new energy can take that forward and help the Board push the Club to the next level.
I’m hugely grateful to the Board, John Sim, management, staff, players and supporters for the welcome and support I’ve received, and for the lasting friendships I’ve made both on the Board and within the Club.
Raith Rovers is in excellent hands, with Colin, Ruaridh, Allan, a top-class manager in Dougie who will drive success on the pitch, Laura and the outstanding staff and volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes.
My family and I never grew up fans but I leave the boardroom and into the South Stand as one, I wish everyone connected with Raith Rovers FC every success moving forward.“
Chairman Colin Smart added:
“Raith Rovers has been extremely fortunate to have had such an honest, hardworking and talented individual as Dean as part of the Board of Directors.
His contributions since 2023 have helped shape the Club both on and off the pitch, leaving a lasting legacy at Stark’s Park.
On behalf of everyone at Raith Rovers, I would like to thank Dean for his dedication and service to the Club, and wish him and his family every success for the future.”
The process to identify a replacement General Manager is underway, and a member of the Board will sit down with RaithTV next week to provide supporters with an overall update.
