Tottenham enquire over signing exciting forward who just suffered panenka embarrassment
Tottenham Hotspur are still scanning the market for attacking reinforcements as the January window edges towards its conclusion, with fresh reports linking the club to a high-profile option currently weighing up his future.
It has, for sure, been a disappointing transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur so far, with the club having signed just Conor Gallagher and Souza.
The hope is that before the winter window slams shut on 2 February, more players are added to the books of a depleted squad for Thomas Frank.
There have been talks of a winger deal being explored by Tottenham, and it remains to be seen whether any such additions will be made.
Tottenham enquire over Brahim Diaz transfer from Real Madrid
TeamTalk are now reporting that Tottenham have made enquiries over the availability of Brahim Diaz following his return from AFCON.
The forward, capable of playing on the wings, impressed in Morocco, scoring an impressive five goals in seven appearances, the most in the competition.
However, at his club, Real Madrid, Diaz appears to be on the fringes under new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, whose early selections have left the playmaker with limited opportunities.
As a result, the player’s representatives are understood to have begun quietly assessing the market, reaching out to clubs across Europe to gauge interest ahead of a potential move, including Spurs.
Spurs face competition as Diaz market assessed
Thomas Frank has since revealed that Tottenham are still in the market for a transfer, and the door remains open for a loan signing to be made as long as it is right for the club short and long-term.
Addressing the wider market around Diaz, the TeamTalk report explains that while a mid-season deal remains complicated, not least due to Real Madrid’s reluctance to weaken their squad during a title push, sources in Spain insist that “nothing is impossible” should the right proposal emerge.
Como have also been contacted, and it is believed that Diaz is seen as a potential replacement for Nico Paz, who could be heading to Madrid at the end of the season.
Aston Villa and Newcastle have also been approached as his camp looks to establish the level of Premier League interest.
