Tottenham offered £71m striker who previously impressed in Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to complete a late January deadline day deal for a former Aston Villa striker.
With just hours left until the transfer window slams shut, Spurs fans are losing hope that anymore players will arrive through the door.
Thomas Frank has not ruled out deadline day signings, but the Dane made it clear that he wants long-term options rather than short-term fixes.
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites have been handed a chance to sign a centre-forward who has proven himself in the Premier League.
Tottenham offered a late chance to sign Jhon Duran
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs have been offered a chance to sign Jhon Duran, whose loan spell at Fenerbahce has not gone according to plan.
Duran made a huge impression in his final six months at Villa Park, scoring 12 goals in just 1,046 minutes for Unai Emery’s side before making a £71m move to Al-Nassr in January of 2025.
However, the 22-year-old failed to settle in Saudi Arabia and was loaned out to Fenerbahce last summer, and he has found game time hard to come by at the Turkish giants.
Duran is now looking for a route out of Istanbul, with intermediaries exploring a possible return to England before the transfer deadline.
Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs notified about the centre-forward’s availability in the dying stages of the window.
Ligue 1 club leading race to land Duran
TEAMtalk say that the Colombia international has also been offered to the likes of Leeds, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
However, it is Lille who are now in pole position to land Duran, with the Ligue 1 side locked in talks over signing him on loan until the end of the season.
The French club are aware that the forward has been offered to other clubs and they are now ‘pushing hard’ to get a deal over the line.
