Grammys 2026: ‘ICE out,’ Bad Bunny says as he accepts Grammy award
Bad Bunny wasted no time when he walked onstage at the 68th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday to accept the award for best musica urbana album for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”
“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ‘ICE out,’” the Puerto Rican singer-rapper said to cheers and a lengthy ovation.
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans, and we are Americans,” said Bad Bunny, the stage name of Benito Martínez Ocasio, who on Sunday, Feb. 8, will headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show.
“And also, I want to say to the people, I know it’s tough not to hate these days,” he continued. “And I was thinking sometimes we get ‘contaminados,’ I don’t know how to say that in English,” he said, searching for the word “contaminated.” “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love.
“So, please, we need to be different,” Bad Bunny added. “If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people, we love our family, and that’s the way to do it, with love.”
Jelly Roll arrived on stage a few minutes later to accept the Grammy for best contemporary country album for “Beautifully Broken,” and used his time to thank Jesus and his wife for saving his life when he was at rock bottom.
“Jesus, I hear you, and I am listening, Lord,” he said. Then to his wife, he spoke, saying, “I’d have ended up in jail or would have killed myself if not for you.
“There was a time in my life that I was broken,” he continued. “There was a moment in my life when all I had was a Bible this big and a radio the same size in my cell.
“Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by any one record label. Jesus is there for everybody.”
