Community Beat for 1 February
Hello spacefriends and welcome to the (slightly belated) Community Beat! It's been a busy week at CCP HQ with the 12 members of the 20th Council of Stellar Management in town for their annual summit. Although we were locked in a meeting room with them all week long while they were subjected to a battery of informative presentations by various CCP dev teams, we somehow still managed to keep an eye out for interesting things bubbling up in the EVE community which we've collected and curated for you below!

Paint me like one of your Gallente ships
It seems like every Community Beat we've done for the last few months has featured painted minis - not that we're complaining! Although it wasn't uncommon to see people painting homebrew 3D printed models, the arrival of the EVE: War for New Eden board game in people's hands has led to a lot more images like these popping up!
Expanding on the Titans they showed off previously, Shathx from SLYCE has completed painting all the fleets in the game, choosing to hue close (see what I did there?) to the original color of each Empire's liveries:
Check out this album on Imgur featuring dozens more pics of Shathx's work!
On the subject of painted minis, at this point it seems almost obligatory to feature something from Watson Crick of A Band Apart who has been sharing his work for some time now. Charting a different course from Shathx, Watson has instead opted to base his paint schemes for this selection of medium sized hulls on various SKIN lines available in the game. These look fantastic, but am I the only one who can't not see the googly eyes on the Bellicose Blue Tiger SKIN? 🤔
Want to ship spin but EVE is kill?
Since the dawn of civilization our species has craved one simple thing - a way to spin EVE ships outside the client. Thanks to EstamelGG you can do just that with their EVE Model Gallery - a simple, minimalist site where you can view practically any 3D model in EVE from your browser. It's great for thoughtful ponderance of the excellent 3D assets in EVE, getting screenshots for your own projects or sharing pics of your favorite ship. Here's mine!
Blockbuster weekly rentals
Well known EVE market guru, content creator and CSM member The Oz has begun a new Zero to Omega Station Trading Challenge for 2026. The idea is to earn his way to Omega using only a single account with 3 alpha characters on it. Along the way viewers will learn a lot about the tools and techniques players like Oz use to unlock the potential of EVE Online's unique player-run market.
Another video to land in our lap this week was this one from Ra-Horakhty M'aat of Shadow Cartel in which they, along with WinterCo and other allies, drop on and kill an Initiative Erebus in Initiative's own staging system.
Phrozen Phantasm
We recently hosted an art contest with our friends at Just titled Frozen Space and invited creators to make art inspired by EVE's Winter Nexus event. There were a bunch of great submissions but there can only be one winner and it was this chilly Phantasm watercolor by Arian:
Check out some of the other great winning entries on the Frozen Space competition page!
New Eden never looked so pretty
Is it cheating to include content from an EVE developer? Long before he was known as CCP Aperture he was Razorien and was renowned for his ability to capture the beauty of EVE in uniquely stunning screenshots which he would share on his popular Flickr page. He's recently updated his portfolio with hundreds of new pictures from various events he's attended in the past several months, including all three timers from the Bubble Bath of R-AG7W, the recent battle over a Fortizar in PPG-XC and the celebration of the life of a departed capsuleer which was the cyno vigil for Imperium and Goonswarm luminary Innominate.
I do declare
EVE Online's longest running podcast Declarations of War have dropped their first episode of 2026 in which they announce the results of their annual Black Mark Awards for 2025 and discuss a bunch of other hot topics. You can listen to the whole podcast on their website or just the Black Mark Awards segment on Youtube below. They're on Spotify, too!
That's all for this Community Beat! See you again in a couple of weeks. o7
