Demond Wilson Dead - 'Sanford and Son' Actor Dies at 79 Following Cancer Battle
Demond Wilson has sadly passed away.
The actor, best known for playing Lamont Sanford on the popular 1970s series Sanford and Son, died on Friday (January 30) at his home in the Coachella Valley area of California. He was 79-years-old.

“I loved him,” Christopher told TMZ. “He was a great man.”
Born Grady Demond Wilson, the actor went by Demond Wilson professionally and starred on Sanford and Sons from 1972 to 1977. He then went on to play Raymond Ellis on the one season of Baby… I’m Back!. He then landed a starring role in The New Odd Couple, which lasted for one season in the early 1980s.
Following a nearly 20-year acting hiatus, Demond‘s final role was in 2023 when he appeared in the drama series Eleanor’s Bench, according to his IMDb page.
