Luka Vuskovic reveals stance on Tottenham future and makes Harry Kane admission
Luka Vuskovic has set the record straight on his Tottenham future while also commenting on what he is learning from Harry Kane.
Such has been the centre-back’s impact at Hamburg that some of the biggest clubs in Europe are after the Spurs teenager.
However, reports indicate that Tottenham have made it clear that Vuskovic is not for sale as they have big plans for him.
In fact, some sources have claimed that Spurs have a ‘clear plan’ to bring the youngster back to the club in the summer, but that there have also been reports to the contrary over recent days.
Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic makes admission about next season
Amidst suggestions that the defender wants to spend one more season at Hamburg, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe recently said that Vuskovic has already informed Spurs of his decision to extend his loan spell at HSV.
However, a local Hamburg outlet suggested a few days ago that there is no truth to suggestions that Vuskovic has agreed to stay at the Bundesliga club beyond the summer.
The defender himself has now clarified that a final decision will only be made at the end of this campaign.
When asked about the possibility of playing alongside his brother, Mario, at HSV next term, the teenager told SportBILD (via Sport Witness): “It would be fantastic to play for this incredible club with Mario. We’ll decide after the World Cup what happens next, what’s best for me.”
Vuskovic is learning a lot from watching Spurs legend Harry Kane
Kane and Vuskovic play at opposite ends of the pitch, but despite that, the 18-year-old is taking a lot of pointers from watching how the England captain goes about his business.
The centre-back said about Kane: “I watch videos of him, of how he scores his goals. How he moves and how he behaves in challenges. I get them from our match analysts.
“If you’re not paying attention to him for even a second, Harry Kane will ruthlessly exploit that moment. We have to be prepared for that.”
Like the Croat, Kane also had a series of loan spells away from Tottenham before eventually breaking into the Spurs team, and Vuskovic is determined to follow in the 32-year-old’s footsteps.
When asked about the parallels between Kane’s journey and his own, the youngster responded: “He had his phases to learn how to play, how to score goals. I believe every step he took back then was right for him and his career. In the end, he became an incredible striker. He deserves congratulations.”
