Baloch Liberation Army Claims Coordinated Attacks Across Pakistan’s Balochistan
The Baloch Liberation Army said it carried out coordinated attacks on military targets across multiple cities in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Saturday it launched simultaneous attacks targeting Pakistani military installations across Balochistan province.
In a statement, the group said the attacks were carried out in 10 cities, marking one of the most geographically widespread operations claimed by the group in recent months.
Security tensions in Pakistan have escalated sharply in recent months, with increased attacks by militant groups including the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) and separatist factions such as the BLA, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan’s government said the situation was under control and that security forces responded swiftly to the attacks, though no official casualty figures have been released so far.
Based on reports by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), 2025 saw a sharp surge in insecurity across Pakistan, with 667 security personnel killed, the highest toll since 2011. Civilian deaths also rose by 24% to 580.
The report said militant attacks increased nationwide, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan remaining the main hotspots. Heavy counter-operations by the state led to 1,063 militant deaths, a 122% increase.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed province, has long been plagued by an insurgency rooted in grievances over political marginalization and control of natural resources.
Reports warn that continued militant coordination could further strain Pakistan’s internal security as authorities confront simultaneous threats from multiple armed groups.
