Smoke haze early and tiny
Hello Friends,
Saturday started with very smoky skies and a faint N breeze lightly texturing the incoming 1.4 metre, 5-second NE wind swell. The best opportunities are going to be at the southern ends, where you might find an occasional waist-high face on the take-offs. However, away from the magnets, it’s close to flat. Also, the tide hit a 1.92 m high at 0745, so it was full as well as weak and tiny.
Dee Why was one of the places missing out on surfable conditions. But the parking lots were full for the fun runners who will get to experience the smoke as they head out. The wind will come around to the NE and be a stock-standard 15-20 kts by this afternoon.
A late south change is expected tomorrow afternoon, but there could be a window of opportunity in the morning when the call is for SW wind and a slightly bigger NE wind swell, mixing with the early south energy.
Monday’s not looking great with 20-30 kts of southerly wind smashing up a reasonably solid south swell, but maybe by Tuesday…
Have a top old Saturday!
