Quick! This Acer Intel Core Ultra laptop with 16GB RAM is only $460
We got a live one, folks. This laptop combines a recent processor, decent integrated graphics, 16GB of RAM, a reputable brand, and a low price. It’s everything you want in a budget buy, no need to go hunting for refurbished or used. Now just $459.99 on Amazon, it’s an impressive 45 percent off the retail price and a true winner all around.
The Acer Aspire 14 AI is a respectable mid-range laptop, though with its understated gray body and non-touch 14-inch IPS LCD screen, it won’t turn any heads. (Incidentally, 1920×1200 is a little better than the standard, but it’s not “ultra high-resolution.”) The screen is definitely a low point in PCWorld’s review of the Aspire 14 AI, which uses the same configuration on sale here. But I’m nitpicking.
This laptop is great overall. It comes with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor, an 8-core design that’s powerful, efficient, and pretty darn recent. Combine it with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD and you should be able to blow through any standard work, browsing, or video tasks with ease. The integrated Arc 130V graphics are respectable, too—you won’t be setting any records, but it can handle the odd game of Minecraft or Fortnite without exploding. Battery life isn’t amazing, but at 65 watt-hours and 17 hours on a 4K video torture test, it’ll get you through a full workday for sure.
The layout is also surprisingly practical for a 14-incher. You get two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a full-sized HDMI. I wish one of those USB-C ports was on the other side just for more convenient charging, but whaddayagonnado. The laptop is decently light at a hair over 3 pounds (1.4 kilograms), and the hinge lets the screen fold back 180 degrees, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Amazon is showing this as a regular sale with no time limit, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it go out of stock quickly. If you miss it, there’s a very similar offer from HP on its OmniBook X Flip laptop for $600 (a cool $500 off). Same processor, same RAM, same storage, the big difference is a larger 16-inch touchscreen that can fold back on itself.
