MAP: Where to watch Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX ‘Benito Bowl’ halftime show in SoCal

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny had been coming off an extremely successful residency in his home country when he decided his world tour wouldn’t include the U.S. That is, until he was offered a headlining slot on one of the world’s biggest stages: the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a joint statement released by the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.

“Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” he added, which translates to “Go tell your grandmother we’re going to be the Super Bowl halftime show.”

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, initially did not want to bring his “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” tour, which has been running since November, to the U.S. due to growing concerns that his concerts could become sites of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, according to an interview he gave to i-D Magazine published in September.

“But there was the issue of — like, f‑‑‑ing ICE could be outside [my concerts],” he said. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Despite his record-breaking residency in Puerto Rico, which bolstered the commonwealth’s economy, and his being Spotify’s most listened-to artist globally for the fourth time in five years, Bad Bunny has drawn ire from conservative media for spotlighting an artist whose music is solely in Spanish.

Turning Point USA, the conservative organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced it would host its own alternative halftime programming dubbed the “All American Halftime Show,” which will be streamed on Dailywire+. More recently, President Donald Trump told the New York Post that he was skipping the event and then criticized Bad Bunny and the new addition of Bay Area alt-rockers Green Day, who have both been critical of his administration, as being “a terrible choice” and “sowing hatred.”

Despite the criticism, Bad Bunny fans are ecstatic to see what he’ll pull off at the Super Bowl. For many Latino fans in the U.S. and abroad, having a Latin American act representing their culture at one of the most prolific sporting events in the country is a source of pride and a celebratory milestone.

While Super Bowl LX is headed to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., Southern California bars and clubs are gearing up to celebrate the “Benito Bowl” with live music, cuisine from the Caribbean, and Bad Bunny-themed cocktails and more. All events are 21 and older, and a few are free but require an RSVP. Here’s where you can watch the Super Bowl and Bad Bunny’s halftime performance in Southern California.

Benito Bowl Preparty at Tacos Madre Kitchen & Cantina

If you’re looking to get a jump-start on Super Bowl celebrations, Tacos Madre Kitchen & Cantina in Santa Ana is throwing a Bad Bunny-themed Super Bowl preparty the week before the big game. Fans can come by the bar and restaurant to enjoy Bad Bunny-themed cocktails, some of the star’s biggest hits, and other reggaeton hits to get the perreo started early.

High Tide

When it comes to channeling an island ambiance with a neon Miami Vice color palette, High Tide in downtown Los Angeles has the perfect spot to house the Benito Bowl. The bar has an outdoor patio full of greenery and outdoor lights, giving it the intimate feel of a backyard party. On Super Bowl Sunday, Casa de Lola, a Puerto Rican and Dominican catering company, will be taking over the kitchen to cook up delicious Caribbean cuisine. The Super Bowl and the halftime show will be projected on a giant screen inside the space and two additional screens outside.

When: 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: High Tide, 605 East 4th St., Los Angeles.

Admission: Free. Space is limited to first-come, first-served.

Amigas y Mas Social

Amigas y Más Social, the nationwide Latina travel and networking community based in Southern California, which organizes brunches, winery visits, travel, and other community events across the U.S., is hosting a watch party for Bad Bunny’s halftime performance. The event, open only to Latina women, will feature music, finger foods, a mechanical bull, a piñata, drinks and free t-shirts for the first 25 women who arrive.

When: 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: Diosa Collective, 4421 E Village Road, Long Beach.

Tickets: Must reserve via eventbrite.com.

Latin District Los Angeles

Last year, L.A. event coordinators banded together to revive some of Downtown LA’s nightlife, which had been struggling to recover due to ICE raids and presence in the city. The collaboration resulted in the Friday Night Latin District: a coalition of Latino-owned bars that host weekly cultural celebrations, and you best believe the Benito Bowl was on the itinerary. The event will include food, activities, music before and after the game/show and vendors.

When: 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: The Shops at 4th&Main, 334 Main St., Los Angeles.

Tickets: Free, but it is recommended to reserve a spot on eventbrite.com.

Sueños Social Wellness Club

The Latino-owned social club will host the big game with dinner bites and beverages, leading up to the halftime show, celebrating one of the most prolific Latin artists topping the charts worldwide. Founders Tiffany and Matrix Quevado typically use the club to host mixers, but also as a space that champions spiritual wellness and hosts workshops on entrepreneurship and well-being based on astrology. The watch party will celebrate Bad Bunny’s milestone and the studio’s philosophy of what success looks like when the stars align.

When: 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: Sueños Social Wellness Club, 5259 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles.

Tickets: $25.31 via eventbrite.com.

Beaches Tropicana

The Working Families Party is hosting nationwide Super Bowl LX watch parties in honor of Bad Bunny’s headlining show. The event will show the game on a massive screen and feature live music, swag giveaways, and free food and drinks at the two-story Beaches Tropicana. As one of West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ hybrid lounges and restaurants, the watch party will fit right in with the nostalgia of 80’s Miami disco culture and its authentic family recipes for California Cuban cuisine.

When: 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: Beaches Tropicana, 8911 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood.

Admission: Free, but a reservation is recommended via eventbrite.com as space is limited.

Preciosa Night at Kiso Los Angeles

Preciosita, the woman-focused and queer event, is organizing a watch party for “women who love women.” The party will feature drink specials, raffles, queer DJ sets, gogo dancers, five TVs, two projectors showing the game, and a highly anticipated performance. Those who want to get the party started earlier can also attend a preparty event open to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies, including non-binary and trans people, at the Executive Suite, located at 3428 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, happening from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.

When: 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Where: Kiso Los Angeles, 107 4th St., Los Angeles.

Admission: $5 via preciosanight.com or free with a football jersey or a Bad Bunny-themed outfit. Tickets for the preparty are $10 on the website and $20 at the door.
