Trump unleashes dozens of social media posts in middle-of-the-night firestorm
Donald Trump posted a series of conspiracy theories, jabs at California Governor Gavin Newsom, and praise for himself in a late night Truth Social firestorm.
The president reiterated a bogus claim that the 2020 election was rigged against him among reshares of Fox News clips and claims of ties between the Barack Obama administration and Russia. Trump has made over 30 posts this morning (January 29) and spent another period in the early hours reposting conspiracy pieces.
One post from Trump reads, "TRUMP WON BIG. Crooked Election!" Other posts featured during Trump's recent social media activity included those backing his claim that the 2020 election, which President Joe Biden won, was rigged against him.
The president reposted a claim that "prosecutions are coming" to those involved in the alleged election fraud.
Trump made a further 56 posts to Truth Social before his morning tirade. Gavin Newsom's Press Office hit out at the president for his frequent posts. A viral post to the Press Office account called on people to stand firm over the next three years as Trump's rhetoric worsens.
The Press Office post reads, "In the last 60 minutes, the President has posted 56 times on Truth Social. One post claims Walmart is closing 85% of its California stores because of our '$22 minimum wage.'"
"Another features an AI-generated video in which a robot accuses Governor Newsom of running a drug-money laundering scheme out of the Governor’s Office with the Mexican cartel. Just to clarify: — Walmart’s 303 stores in California are open. — The AI robot is lying. Governor Newsom is not Pablo Escobar."
It further states:
"We cannot believe we have to say any of this out loud. We cannot believe this is real life. And we truly cannot believe this man has the nuclear codes. Deep breaths, everyone. Three more years."
