Carl's Jr. Hopes to Cure Your Post-Super Bowl Hangover
Carl's Jr. has a few plans in place to ease football fans back into real life the day after the Super Bowl, announced in a press release. As has been tradition since 2024, the charbroiled burger chain will present its app users with a free Hangover Breakfast Burger. In fact, the chain has declared the day after the Super Bowl as National Hangover Day (since New Year's Day already has an official title).
The Hangover Breakfast Burger is quite hearty — perhaps even a bit too hearty to eat first thing in the morning. It's got a beef patty, a folded egg, bacon, American cheese, Hash Rounds (which is what Carl's Jr. calls hash browns), and ketchup. It's basically a classic American breakfast put on top of a burger. It'll either be just what you need to give you life, or just what you need to make you want to go back to sleep.
But Carl's Jr. is adding in another promotion to sweeten the deal. With the advent of legal sports betting, tons of football fans will lose varying amounts of money by placing bets without consulting their local psychic. To counteract the slew of bad bets — and the depressive episodes that will surely come with them — Carl's Jr. is offering $20 gift cards to people who lost money on a lousy prediction. The first 500 people who upload a screenshot of their bad bet to the chain's website will receive a digital promo card.
"The thing about predictions is that everyone makes them, and everyone gets them wrong sometimes. The difference is, Carl's Jr. is actually rewarding people for admitting it," New York Giants quarterback James Winston said in the press release. "Sometimes you just need to laugh about your bad calls and move on to the next day. That's what I love about this offer."
