Fixtures
- Hibernian Women Vs. Glasgow City Women - Sat, Jan 31 2026, 17:15
THE LOWDOWN
The televised tie will kick-off at 5:15pm on Saturday 31 January at Meadowbank Stadium.
We head into the match with a win under our belt following our sizable home victory over Hamilton Academical last weekend.
Ciara Grant opened the scoring inside 10 minutes at Meadowbank before Eilidh Adams and Rachael Boyle extended our lead to three by half-time. Adams added another after the restart prior to Rosie Livingstone’s excellent finish late on.
The 5-0 win was notable for being Joelle Murray’s first win as Hibs Women Head Coach, as well as the appearance of Olivia Cornet – with the 16-year-old NextGen Academy star making her professional debut off the bench.
The Hibees now ready themselves for Saturday’s Sky Sports Cup Semi-Final, which the girls reached by defeating Motherwell and Hearts in previous rounds.
We thrashed the former 9-0 at Meadowbank in the last 16 before seeing off our city rivals by winning 3-2 at Oriam in the quarter-finals.
We are participating in the Semi-Final stage of the competition for a twelfth consecutive iteration - with the 2012 campaign the last time we failed to reach the final four of the tournament.
TEAM NEWS
Siobhan Hunter, Linzi Taylor and Milly Boughton are all progressing well and are in contention for the matchday squad on Saturday.
Caley Gibb and Tiree Burchill missed out last weekend but are continuing to work with the medical department as they make steady progression ahead of their return to play.
After suffering back-to-back setbacks, Hannah Jordan made her first league start for the Club against Hamilton last Sunday, while centre-forward McGovern appeared once more off the bench.
THE VISITORS
While Hibs are the record-holders in the SWPL Cup’s history with seven triumphs, Glasgow City are the closest contenders to the record having won the competition six times and are currently seeking their first success since 2015.
Leanne Ross’ side are currently top of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League table and remain unbeaten after 16 matches.
Hibs are the only side to have not lost to City in the league this season. After playing out a 1-1 home draw in October, we were held to a goalless draw at Petershill Park in November.
City have won 13 games in the league and have drawn three times – twice against Hibs and once against Rangers just last weekend. An early own goal put the hosts ahead before Rangers levelled late through Calliste Brookshire.
Our visitors on Saturday breezed through the early Sky Sports Cup rounds; defeating Hamilton (5-0) and Aberdeen (2-0) to reach the final four.
