New Forever Mine Festival will debut in Chicago this May with Keyshia Cole, Kaytranada, Kelly Rowland
New music festival Forever Mine throws it back to the early 2000s for its inaugural event in Union Park on May 23 and 24. The festival will be hosted by Chicago’s DJ Pharris and is described on its website as “where R&B and house fall in love.”
The lineup, announced Wednesday, features main stage acts including Keyshia Cole, Kaytranada, Monica, Kelly Rowland, Shaggy, Mario and Chicago’s own DJ Ca$h Era. Organizers also plan a predominantly local “Warehouse” stage in honor of Chicago’s dance and house music culture, with DJ sets including Grammy-nominated producer Terry Hunter, Lady D, DJ Slugo, John Simmons, Hillery Banks, Syko and Kind Inesse.
The festival will also include installations from local artists and a silent disco with Chicago DJs All the Way Kay, Evie the Cool, Bonita Appleblunt, Cut Cuz, Timmy V and more.
“Chicago gave the world house music, and this city has always been where house and R&B intersect,” co-owners Fernando Nieto and Miguel Torres wrote in a news release. “We want to see a crowd of all ages singing the anthems that defined the early 2000s and are now finding new life with the next generation.”
Nieto has helped produce past festivals including Más Flow 5K, Sabor Tacos y Tequila Fest, Windy City Margarita Fest and Michelada Fest. The latter was canceled last year due to concerns about international artist visas.
Forever Mine Festival is headed to the former site of Pitchfork Music Festival, which was canceled by owner Condé Nast in November 2024. The Forever Mine festival coincides with Sueños Music Festival in Grant Park, one of the largest Latin music festivals in the country. Its lineup will be announced on Feb. 10.
General admission tickets will go on sale Friday, and the festival will be open for all ages.
