Vice President Ansah Calls for Stronger NGO Support
Vice President Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah has called on non-governmental organisations to continue supporting the government in its efforts to achieve national development goals.
She made the remarks on Wednesday in Lilongwe when she met officials from Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) at Capital Hill.
Dr. Ansah said partnerships between government and development organisations remain crucial in improving service delivery and uplifting communities across the country.
DAPP Country Director Moses Chibwana briefed the Vice President on the organisation’s work in agriculture, health, education, vocational training and community development.
He said DAPP is ready to continue collaborating with government to improve the lives of Malawians.
Special Assistant to the Vice President on Governance, Alex Machila, praised DAPP for its long-standing partnership with the government, saying such cooperation complements government development efforts.
He added that DAPP has also shown interest in working with the Jane Ansah Foundation, which supports vulnerable groups.
Governance Expert in the Office of the Vice President, Alex Machira, commended DAPP for its continued cooperation with government institutions and urged other organisations to follow its example.
The meeting was described as an important step in strengthening partnerships for sustainable national development.
