Trump Admin is Filled With Multiple Pro-Life Leaders

The origins of the phrase “personnel is policy” is not precisely known but is most widely associated with senior figures in the administration of our great pro-life President Ronald Reagan. You want your agenda pushed, promoted, and pursued, get people who share your belief in what you stand for.

Stands to reason. And the Donald Trump Administration is layered with true blue pro-lifers.

Vice President JD Vance, a stalwart pro-lifers, spoke at the March for Life. I’ve reposted his stirring remarks. Please take a few minutes to read his speech, won’t you?

Personally, I was particular struck by how he said that President Trump had

shattered a 50-year culture of disposability, one that treated human life as expendable the moment that it became inconvenient. And he empowered our nation and our movement to build a culture of life from the grassroots up. And over the last year, I’ve bragged a little bit: Our administration has worked very hard to lead that effort and to pick up the pieces to clean up the wreckages of five decades of bad policy on the question of life.

There were Trump administration officials speaking at more than just at the March for Life.  For example, Jim O’Neil, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, spoke at the March for Life Action Breakfast.

Another speech very much worth reading. If I may, allow me to highlight three points.

First

The March for Life brings together Americans who care deeply about human dignity, ethical medicine, and the responsibilities that come with scientific and governmental power. I’d like to use my time speaking with you today to explain how public policy can reflect those values—clearly, carefully, and faithfully—while upholding the dignity of human life.

Actually, I could stop right there. How government could and should–“clearly, carefully, and faithfully– uphold the dignity of human life.

Second

‘HHS has also realigned with the Geneva Consensus Declaration. Once again, under the second Trump `administration, the United States is linking arms with `global allies who share the belief that every human life has inherent dignity, nations have a sovereign right to set their own health policies free of international coercion by entities such as the World Health Organization, and there is NO. HUMAN. RIGHT. TO. ABORTION.

We will not be a patsy any longer for countries that do not share our commitment to the value of human life. Period.

And third

The pro-life movement has long argued that respect for life must be reflected in institutions, not just beliefs. That argument resonates because it speaks to a broader concern many Americans share: that systems have drifted away from their moral foundations. Reforming them is not about turning back the clock; it is about applying modern tools to timeless principles.

In the Trump administration, HHS is committed to doing our work transparently, using gold-standard science, rooted in moral objectivity.

Thank you for your advocacy, for your engagement, and for holding institutions to account. I look forward to continuing this work together.

As I said at the beginning, personnel is policy. Thankfully, the administration of Donald Trump is filled with pro-life champions.
