The Top 10 Video Games of February 2026

With the first month of 2026 nearly in the books, it’s time to start looking ahead to February. For some, it’s a month of romance. For others, it means having to navigate their children's week-long President’s Day holiday. For gamers, however, it’s simply another month of new games waiting to be played (or maybe added to our ever-growing backlogs).

While January was a bit slow on the release front, things are starting to pick up now, which means I’ll be expanding the list. With that in mind, here’s my top 10 video games that are coming out in February:

10) High on Life 2

The original was a first-person shooter about aliens coming to Earth to convert humans into drugs, and it asked you to stop them by using talking weapons. The sequel promises more of the same, so if you like that kind of humor you could be in for a good time.

9) Bandit Trap

Looking for an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one of you sets traps and three others try to bypass them? Look no further, as Bandit Trap allows you to channel your inner Kevin McCallister and make life miserable on would-be home invaders.

8) Norse: Oath of Blood

A turn-based tactical game set during the days of the Vikings (not the Minnesota kind), Norse: Oath of Blood gives off some XCOM vibes, which is always a good thing.

ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN on Steam

7) ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN

Game designer Goichi Suda (better known as SUDA51) returns with a third-person action-adventure game. Suda has cultivated a following with his stylish, avant-garde games, including the likes of No More Heroes, Killer7, and Lollipop Chainsaw, so we’ll see how over the top his latest offering is.

6) Styx: Blades of Greed

It’s tough to make a good stealth game, but developer Cyanide Studio might be on to something with Blades of Greed, a sequel to Styx: Master of Shadows, which garnered solid reviews when it released back in 2014.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined on Steam (Squa

5) Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

Square Enix’s “other” long-running RPG series gets a fresh coat of paint with Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, featuring an intriguing art style that conjures thoughts of Nintendo’s adorable remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

4) Nioh 3

Developer Team Ninja has a well-deserved reputation for making punishingly difficult games, and the two previous Nioh games comfortably fell under that banner. Expect more of the same from Nioh 3, the latest installment in the Souls-like series known for its fast-paced combat.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties on Steam (SEGA)

3) Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties

While I don’t always embrace the silliness in the Yakuza games, it’s a series I’ve enjoyed over the years, and that journey began with Yakuza 3. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a full-blown remake of the 2009 game that includes a brand-new prequel expansion. It sounds like the perfect excuse to return to Kamurocho.

2) REANIMAL

The first of two February launches that appeared on my Top 26 Games of 2026 list, REANIMAL checked in at No. 14. From the developers behind the first two Little Nightmares games, this promises the same kind of environmental horror that made those titles stand out.

1) Resident Evil: Requiem

Believe it or not, Requiem is just the third mainline Resident Evil release in the past 14 years and first since 2021’s Resident Evil: Village, though Capcom filled some of those quiet times with a trio of remakes. I’m excited for the dual-protagonist approach for Requiem, which was fourth on the aforementioned list for 2026, particularly the return of Leon Kennedy for some proper RE third-person action.
