2026 BAFTA Nominations Announced: ‘Hamnet’ and ‘Marty Supreme’ Fight for Top Spot

The nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Awards have been announced, and Paul Thomas Anderson's political thriller One Battle After Another has continued its staggering performance in the runup to the Oscars.

One Battle After Another picked up fourteen nominations at this year's BAFTAs, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and 2x Best Supporting Actor.

Ryan Coogler's vampire horror Sinners, which made history at the Academy Awards with a record-breaking sixteen nominations last week, trailed closely behind at the BAFTAs with thirteen noms. Chloe Zhao's historical drama Hamnet and Josh Safdie's sports thriller Marty Supreme both scored an impressive eleven nominations.

BAFTAs Saw Major Surprises In Acting Categories

Although it's typical for the BAFTAs and the Oscars to be misaligned in certain categories, there were some major surprises and snubs this year. To start positively—both Paul Mescal and Chase Infiniti were redeemed for their Oscar snubs. They received nominations in Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress for their work in Hamnet and One Battle After Another, respectively.

Unfortunately, this meant there wasn't enough room for Sinners' Delroy Lindo in Best Supporting Actor—his spot was occupied by Scottish veteran Peter Mullan for his performance in British drama I Swear.

The BAFTAs lineup for Best Supporting Actress looks completely different from the one selected by the Academy Awards; Carey Mulligan, Emily Watson, and Odessa A'Zion all landed nominations today despite their Oscar snubs. Unfortunately, this meant that Elle Fanning and Amy Madigan didn't make the cut.

The BAFTA Awards ceremony will take place on February 22, and will be hosted by The Traitors' Alan Cumming. Read the full list of above-the-line nominations below.
