Report: Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino and some of his agents leaving Minnesota ‘imminently’
As President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan arrives in Minnesota to help quell ongoing violence against federal officers, Greg Bovino, the head of Border Patrol, and some of his agents are reportedly leaving the state “imminently.”
Bill Melugin of Fox News reports: Multiple federal sources confirm to Fox News that Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino & some, not all Border Patrol agents, will be leaving the state of Minnesota imminently.”
Former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino reported on “The Five” that Bovino and the agents are set to leave Tuesday.
Melugin also reported: “A DHS spokesperson confirms to Fox News that several federal agents had their body cameras on during the interaction that led to the deadly shooting of Alex Pretti in Minnesota, and footage from ‘multiple angles’ is currently being reviewed by investigators.
Democrat Gov. Tim Walz had what he called “a productive call” with President Donald Trump on Monday.
“The President agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota and to talk to DHS about ensuring the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is able to conduct an independent investigation, as would ordinarily be the case,” Walz said.
“I explained to him that his staff doesn’t have their facts straight about Minnesota.”
I spoke to the President earlier. We had a productive conversation and I explained to him that his staff doesn’t have their facts straight about Minnesota. My thoughts in the Wall Street Journal:https://t.co/Prlt2mu8Bx pic.twitter.com/XFJyv6V1yH

“Federal officials are lying,” Walz said in a Wall Street Journal commentary. “My state’s Corrections Department honors all immigration detainers.”
Melugin noted: “Very misleading from Walz. Yes, his prisons honor ICE detainers by transferring convicted criminal aliens after they serve their sentence, but his city and county jails do not.”
Very misleading from Walz. Yes, his prisons honor ICE detainers by transferring *convicted* criminal aliens after they serve their sentence, but his city and county jails do not.
ICE wants criminal aliens arrested for crimes handed to them instead of being released to streets.… https://t.co/SwNQOmhkf1

“ICE wants criminal aliens arrested for crimes handed to them instead of being released to streets. Even California prisons honor ICE detainers. The sanctuary fights are over city and county jails.”
This is our Border Patrol being targeted at their hotel in Minneapolis – surrounded, blocked in, glass smashed, people trying to force their way inside. This is NOT a protest. This is an attack on law enforcement. pic.twitter.com/2lHxkE8zMt
