What Happened to Robin Kaye? 'American Idol' Dedicates 2026 Season to Music Supervisor Killed in Double Homicide
American Idol is paying tribute to Robin Kaye, the show’s late music supervisor who was killed in her Los Angeles home in summer 2025.
The season 24 premiere began with a dedication to Robin, who was murder on July 10, 2025.
Robin and her husband Thomas Deluca were murdered at their home and their bodies were discovered in a gruesome scene when police performed a welfare check days later.

LAPD reportedly found blood upon entry, and a window that had been broken. They apparently suffered from gunshot wounds and were pronounced deceased. Neighbors claimed that it had been 4 days since family had heard from them before the welfare check was performed.
A 22-year-old man named Raymond Boodarian has been charged with their murders, but was found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Robin had worked on American Idol for nearly 300 episodes. She also had won Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. She also previously worked on the Miss Universe pageants as well as Lip Sync Battle. The home they lived in apparently once belonged to late rapper Juice WRLD, who passed away in 2019.
American Idol producers said at the time, “We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
