Kyndal Inskeep Has Full-Circle Moment on 'American Idol' as Fellow Contestant Lainey Grace Performs Her Song
Kyndal Inskeep had one of the most incredible full-circle moments on American Idol.
The 29-year-old singer, who previously competed on The Voice in 2019, is auditioning for the 24th season of Idol and another contestant happened to sing her original song in their own audition.
Idol hopeful Lainey Grace chose to sing Kyndal‘s original song “Honest” for her audition and the producers had Kyndal wait in the wings to watch the audition.

While Lainey didn’t make it through to Hollywood Week, Kyndal moved forward to the next round of the competition.
Kyndal told WRTV Indianapolis, “You kind of can’t prepare for a show like this. You can be as authentic to yourself as possible, and you can run with the tools that you already have. But it’s really just putting faith in yourself and putting one step forward and going with it and seeing where it takes you and being confident in the other, the tools that you already have.”
For her own audition, Kyndal performed her original song “Prayer of a Trying Daughter.”
Kyndal said of the song, “It’s called ‘Prayer of a Trying Daughter.’ And it basically speaks, I mean, it speaks from the context of me being kind of in a space where I felt stuck in my career, and I felt stuck in my life, and I was kind of in a space that I didn’t know how to move forward in. And so, it was a prayer, if you will.”
